Summary of Dispute

James was paid $149.00 for garage door repair services that included a 30 Day warranty. The garage door came off the track due to being unhooked during a power outage. James came out and fixed the garage door on Feb. 21st. The garage door came back off the track the next day and it was far worse than when James fixed it. He returned 2 days later to fix it again. The garage door came off the track again that very next day. Then James said it needed new rollers and he was going to charge an additional $67 to fix the rollers. I agreed to pay the additional $67, although he never mentioned rollers in the beginning. He said he would arrive around 5pm that day and never showed up. He did not respond to calls or text messages. The next day I called from a different phone number and his wife "assistant" Eugenia answered and said he was busy. I informed her that I was waiting on him all night to come back and fix the garage...her response was that he was busy until 11pm that night.

Summary of Transaction Venue's Actions

The outcome was that James never returned to fix the garage. He said he would come that same day the last time we talked and then he sent me a long text message saying that he was not coming to fix the garage because his assistant told him that I accused him of being unprofessional. I reminded him that he promised to return and fix the garage that he was already paid $149 and the garage door was worse off than when he originally fixed it. He said "well, it was a different problem now", which was not true. He told me I needed to find someone else to fix the door since I thought he was unprofessional. I called another garage door specialist out to fix the door and they fixed it and said there was nothing wrong with the garage door rollers and the person who "tried" to fix it was just scamming me.
